Deendayal Port Authority, Kandla under its CSR, Extends Significant Support to Gandhidham Municipal Corporation for Key Public Welfare Projects in the Presence of Chief Minister of Gujarat. Deendayal Port Authority, Kandla marked a significant stride today by extending major support to the Gandhidham Municipal Corporation across multiple public utility and civic infrastructure initiatives. The occasion was graced by the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, whose esteemed presence added great motivation to all stakeholders. Chief Minister was warmly welcomed by Sushil Kumar Singh, IRSME, Chairman DPA upon his arrival at the Port Township, Gopalpuri Gandhidham. Under its commitment towards social responsibility and regional development, DPA Kandla has actively partnered with the Gandhidham Municipal Corporation in taking forward several community-focused efforts aimed at improving urban infrastructure, enhancing public convenience, and elevating the quality of life for residents of the Twin Port Township, Gandhidham–Adipur.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) has designated Hindustan Unilever Ltd’s (HUL) factories in Gandhidham, Gujarat, and Puducherry as Advanced Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) Lighthouse sites, HUL said in its release. HUL’s Dapada site had earlier received this recognition in 2022, followed by the Sonepat site in 2023 and the Doom Dooma unit in 2025. With this, the total count of HUL factories earning the Advanced 4IR Lighthouse recognition stands at five. The World Economic Forum’s Global Lighthouse Network honours the most digitally advanced factories that transform operations, enhance efficiency, drive sustainable growth and upskill their workforce. The two sites run 4IR technology in almost every process, with more than 50 initiatives currently in place across the end-to-end supply chain.

A massive fire broke out at a godown located in the Kandla Special Economic Zone in Gandhidham city, Kutch district, on Friday. Fire tenders and authorities reached the site and doused the fire. Pictures shared from the factory shows massive blazes and the entire area engulfed in smoke. As of now, no casuality is reported. Mukesh Chaudhary, Deputy Superintendent of Police, East Kutch, said, “We received information about the fire incident from the Gandhidham city of Kutch. Upon receiving the news about the blaze, we dispatched a team of fire tenders and a police team for dousing operations.”
