Green hydrogen centre of excellence to be established in Gandhidham.

A new Centre of Excellence focused on green hydrogen technology will soon be built in Gandhidham, Kutch district. The project, led by the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), is expected to cost ₹75.07 crore and will be completed within 10 months, reports DeshGujarat. The plan includes constructing a modern building with drywalls, complete interior work, plumbing and electrical fittings, soundproof systems, video and audio equipment, internal roads, and landscaped surroundings. The facility is designed to meet high environmental standards and aims to earn top ratings under green building guidelines. Detailed plans for the building’s structure and design must be approved by the appropriate authorities before construction begins. These plans will include everything from building layouts and furniture to water supply, sanitation, fire safety, lighting, air conditioning, security cameras, and garden spaces.

Wabtec Renews Locomotive Services Agreement at the Gandhidham.

Wabtec Corporation (NYSE: WAB) and Western Railways celebrated an agreement renewing locomotive service operations at the Gandhidham Maintenance Shed in Gujarat, India. The renewal builds upon Wabtec’s working relationship with Indian Railways to ensure the optimum reliability and performance of the freight locomotive fleet in western India.  “The Gandhidham Maintenance Shed represents a commitment to excellence, delivering high availability, reliability, and setting new quality standards for locomotive service operations in India,” said Sandeep Selot, Managing Director and Vice President, Wabtec Freight Business, India. “This renewal continues to complement our existing locomotive maintenance operations in Roza in the north and Gooty in the southern part of the country.” Wabtec Locomotive Private Limited (WLPL),  the joint venture with Indian Railways, is contracted to maintain 250 Wabtec locomotives at Gandhidham, for the next three years.

Deendayal Port Authority successfully tests LIM Pod.

Deendayal Port Authority, Kandla has successfully commissioned and tested an indigenously developed mobility solution for cargo transportation. The protype of futuristic and advanced transport system based on linear induction motor (LIM) technology, has been developed by TuTr Hyperloop pvt ltd .. a deep tech startup incubated at the Indian Institute Of Technology Madras. Building on this success, DPA Kandla is now targeting an upgrade of the mobility solution to a Magnetic Levitation Platform. TuTr Hyperloop, as part of a collaborative partnership with DPA , will now undertake a magnetic levitation technology demonstration at Kandla port, marking the next phase of advanced mobility deployment at Indian port’s, according to the release.
